Probably Mother of Mercy. This is partly because it was on Guitar Hero: Metallica. But Samhain has so many better songs, it’s crazy.

What impact has number 1 had on your life?

I was in a really dark place in my life before I discovered Black Flag, I didn’t exactly know where my life was going and I flat out hated myself. Black Flag took that anger that I had and shifted to more productive things. I started writing more and it has even led to me meeting Henry Rollins. I also fell in love with a girl who loves the band just as much as I do, it’s always good to meet someone special who loves the same band you do.

When did you first get into 2?

I got into the Misfits pretty recently. I had always seen the Crimson Ghost all over the place, but I never knew what was associated with it. I even got into Danzig before I got into the Misfits. It’s weird that a band that fits so perfectly into the things I love (sci-fi/horror, loud, aggressive music) took me so long to find.

How did you get into 3?

Simply, I had heard Bohemian Rhapsody one day over the radio, I was taken by how beautiful it was. I bought Live at Wembly and it fucking rocked, so I slowly started buying every single Queen album around, I even got my friend into them. I even got really jealous when my mom told me she saw them live. She even said that seeing Queen live was the best show she had ever seen, and she’s seen Led Zeppelin and KISS back in the 70s.

What is your favourite song by 4?

Oh man, that’s tough. Bowie has so many great songs. However, I think I’ll go with Soul Love off of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. It reminds me of a girl I once loved.

How many times have you seen 9 live?

Zero, but they still play from time to time. Maybe I should check them out, huh?

In Utero has the best lyrics, but Bleach is much more fun to listen to. So, Bleach.

How did you become a fan of number 10?

My brother bought me …And Justice For All and Ride the Lightning one year for my birthday, and at that time I wasn’t really into Metallica. In fact, I hated Metallica. Ever since the whole Napster thing I refused to listen to their music because I used Napster so much that Metallica trying to stop it just made them my enemy. I finally listen to them and HOLY SHIT! They’re fucking awesome! In fact, out of the Big 4, it took me longer to listen to Metallica than Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax. I learned my lesson.

What songs by number 4 do you listen to the least?

Some of Bowie’s later stuff isn’t that interesting or… good. That Whole Afraid of Americans phase wasn’t that awesome.

Two favourite songs by number 5?

God damn, only two? All Murder, All Guts, All Fun and The Howl. Ton of great songs, though.

Which have you known the longest?

Nirvana. I’ve known about Nirvana since I was 3 or 4. I remember when Kurt Loder had breaking news that Kurt killed himself. That was weird, I was seven and I knew who that guy was and how his music touched the lives of people. Trippy.
